Overview

Hight Dragon Vietnamese Cuisine, nestled within Richmond’s bustling public market at 8260 Westminster Hwy, offers a sincere and vibrant taste of Vietnam that surprises and delights even the most discerning palates. This unassuming spot thrives through authenticity and generosity, making it a standout among Vietnamese eateries in the area.

The soul of Hight Dragon lies in its rich, aromatic broths and well-crafted dishes that echo classic Vietnamese flavors. Their House Special Beef Pho and Rare Beef and Tendon Spicy Sate Pho are standout representations of traditional recipes—slow-cooked to depth and balanced with a subtle sweetness and natural meatiness free from artificial additives. The broth’s clarity and complexity reflect a commitment to quality that is often lost in fast-food interpretations of this iconic dish.

Beyond pho, the Special Vermicelli, combining grilled pork, spring roll, pork patty, and shrimp atop vibrant vegetables and vermicelli noodles, provides a harmonious interplay of textures and flavors. Likewise, their grilled lemongrass chicken and pork dishes are exceptional for their smoky, savory notes that complement the freshness of accompanying herbs and crisp spring rolls. These dishes invite food lovers who crave hearty yet balanced Vietnamese cuisine, served in generous portions that truly satisfy.

Hight Dragon’s location in Richmond’s public market presents a casual, no-frills environment where community and comfort food meet. The space caters well to both quick, fulfilling meals and casual gatherings. The steady stream of repeat customers, including local families and office workers, testifies to the restaurant’s appeal across different demographics. The staff, though modest, exude warmth and familiarity, adding to the inviting nature of the dining experience.

Practically speaking, Hight Dragon appeals to those seeking authenticity without the premium price tag. It stands out for avoiding the pitfalls common in many food-court Vietnamese offerings, such as excessive use of MSG or oily, overly salty preparations. Instead, meals here feel fresh, wholesome, and deeply satisfying. The inclusion of Vietnamese coffee rounds off the experience with a bold, sweet finish that feels both energizing and comforting.

In sum, Hight Dragon Vietnamese Cuisine is a hidden gem—a place where thoughtful preparation meets true Vietnamese culinary tradition. It effortlessly bridges traditional recipes with the modern-day demand for quality and value, making it a must-visit destination for Richmond residents and visitors alike who appreciate genuine, flavorful Vietnamese fare.

If you’re stuck deciding where to eat at the Richmond Public Market, look no further than here! We are picky eaters when it comes to Vietnamese food, and we were sooo pleasantly surprised how great this place is! It’s been a year and a half since they first opened and we are so glad they are still in business. The bun bo hue is only $14.95 and is huge! Legit with pork blood and pig feet, the broth had no MSG taste and was very authentic and flavorful and served in real bowls, not the take out ones. Their regular pho broth is just the right amount of sweetness and beef bone taste. Their homemade spring roll was full of meat and wasn’t greasy and was nice and crispy without the taste of old oil. The Viet coffee was strong and just enough sweetness without tasting syrupy. This also felt quite healthy compared to all the other greasy spoons in the food court which can be MSG laden, salty, oily and full of corn starch. For $28 total, 2 ppl can have a fulfilling meal and leave super satisfied compared to a restaurant for the same quality and the lady at the front is super friendly too! Keep up the great work!

I was looking for delicious food for an affordable price in Richmond. After all the browsing. I found this place called Hight Dragon. I was quite pleased to find this restaurant since I love Pho and Bun Cha. This restaurant also has a convenient access to ATM as well. I was glad to find out credit card is accepted here! I got #29 Vermicelli with grilled chicken and spring roll ($15.95). Price and the portion were very impressive. Portion was huge! Food was freshly made. Chicken was grilled nicely. Spring roll was crispy and tasty. I actually felt that food was cooked perfectly. The server seemed quiet rather than acting friendly. The Vietnamese food here was amazing! I’ll remember to stop by next time as well.

Pleasantly surprised by their quality and broth flavor. Not a hint of MSG or over salting. Pho was great value even without the lunch promotion that first drew me in for a try. My wife had the Bun Bo Hue which was large and delicious. Good old natural broth mildly sweet by fresh ingredients. Staff is friendly with lots of aunties and uncles dropping by to say high. I see many younger couples walk by with just a quick glance at their stall display because is not busing like Tony’s. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Money well spent. They survived over a year in this competitive food court and kept up with quality. Seems all the previous reviews are still accurate so will definitely try out more of their other dishes in the future.

Their broth is amazing! My co-worker got me hooked up to this place. Very reasonably priced and honest portion, I usually get the large option at other pho restaurants and still short on noodles but I can never finish the noodles here. Best place to get food after work!

No words can express how impressed I am! I initially did not have very high expectations since the restaurant was from a food court, but I was quickly proven wrong. This is the best value pho! For 15$, you get a HUGE bowl of pho, even bigger than XL portions from restaurants. They give a generous portion of beef too. The broth is authentic, probably little to no MSG added since my tongue did not feel tingly after eating. I recommend this place for when you want to eat something filling for a low price!

I recently tried this viet stall in the public market and I’m really impressed. The whole menu is under $20 with most of the dishes costing around $16. I tried the daily combo ($12) which is eat in only and for the price it’s a really great deal. The springs rolls are fantastic - really crispy and not oily. The lady who runs the stall is so nice and has the sweetest smile. I’m itching to come back to try some of their other menu items.

Delicious food and great prices! I recently visited Richmond Public Market for the first time the other night and I had no idea what to choose for food; there’s so many stalls. I ended up going with Hight Dragon. I ordered their salad rolls and a chicken Bahn Mi sandwich. The salad rolls were my favourite as they came with a delicious peanut sauce for them to be dipped in. Absolutely delectable! The grand total for my food was only $17.27 For anyone not familiar with Richmond Public Market, Hight Dragon is located upstairs on the second floor and they do accept debit cards which is very convenient

2025.09.03. Hight Dragon Vietnamese Cuisine offers combos CAD 19 + GST: A. Any noodle soup, 2 piece spring roll, coffee; B. Bahn Mi Sandwich, coffee, salad roll; C. Any rice, coffee. Chose combo B with their Lemongrass Grilled Pork Bahn Mi Vietnamese Sandwich, a Salad Roll, and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Allow around ten minutes for your order to be ready. Find myself favorably impressed by their kind spirit. 2025.08.21. This little unassuming stall here delivers some wonderful flavors of Vietnamese cuisine without the need to be spicy at all. Their Bahn mi sandwiches are at the top of the class. Great French baguette with a thin crunchy surface texture, followed with an airy interior foundation. The grilled lemongrass pork was great array of flavors to enliven its tastebuds, along with its fillings to makeup the sandwich. The order to request no cilantro, no onions, no peppers, nothing spicy. The Vermicelli was very good tasting also, but not as good as their Bahn Mi sandwiches. A daily dining option till 1900 for your Bahn mi sandwich desires. My new favorite for lemongrass grilled pork Bahn mi sandwich. Credit cards accepted.
